BYU–Hawaii Represents the United States at the 2020 Enactus World Cup

The Enactus Team from BYU–Hawaii waved the USA flag high, even if it was virtually, as they reached the semi-final round at the 2020 Enactus World Cup last night, September 8, 2020.

BYU–Hawaii secured their spot to compete at the Enactus World Cup when they have victoriously crowned the 2020 National Champions on May 14, out of 285 Enactus teams nationally. This is their third successive year as the Enactus National Champion and their fourth overall in their 29-year history with Enactus.

Late last night, BYU–Hawaii's Enactus team competed against National Champion teams from 32 countries, each showcasing their university's social entrepreneurship projects. With the announcement of the semifinals, only 16 out of the 32 National Champions will move on.

Those 16 teams are now placed in four leagues and each league has four competing teams. BYU–Hawaii Enactus was placed in League 1 and will compete against Ireland, Tunisia, and Egypt. Only one team from each league will move onto the final four. At the end of the 2020 Enactus World Cup Championship, only one of the final four teams will bring home to their country the highly sought after Enactus World Cup.

Junior Eli Clark, BYU–Hawaii's Enactus student president, majoring in business management–supply chain and operations, shared his thoughts about his team's efforts this year: "Our team is amazing. We faced very real challenges with each of our projects, but we pulled together. It's been a lot of late nights, but I'm excited that we've made it to the semi-finals and look forward to seeing what happens with the finals."
