Elaine S. Dalton to Address BYU-Hawaii Graduates

Approximately 450 students will participate in the upcoming BYU–Hawaii commencement exercises on Saturday, April 14, 2012. Addressing the graduates will be Elaine S. Dalton, Young Women General President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The event will be held at 9:00 AM in the George Q. Cannon Activities Center and will be streamed live online.

The student speaker will be Danielle Hitz, who is graduating with a degree in elementary education with a minor in teaching English as a second language (TESOL) and psychology. She is from Boise, Idaho.

Sister Dalton was called as the Young Women General President on April 5, 2008. Prior to her call as president, Sister Dalton also served as first and second counselor in the Young Women general presidency, and served on the Young Women general board for five years. Sister Dalton grew up in Ogden, Utah, and received a bachelor’s degree in English from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
