Married Student Stake Changes

Laie Hawaii Married Student Stake reorganizes, prepares for future growth.

Since 2006, the Laie Hawaii Married Student Stake, formerly BYU–Hawaii 2nd Stake, has grown in membership by over 200 members. The increase in students has given the stake the opportunity to change the ward boundaries incorporating more students who are living off-campus into each of the wards. A new ward was also created to accommodate future growth.

“The new organization, including the new ward, provides opportunities for more people to serve in bishoprics, Relief Society, priesthood quorums and the auxiliaries,” explains Stake President Arapata Meha. “This is one of our stake goals – to develop church and family leadership skills by providing opportunities to serve.”
