Seasiders Welcome New Sports Information Director

Kenny Cox has joined the BYU–Hawaii Seasiders with responsibility over sports information and athletic marketing.

An alumnus of Brigham Young University in Provo, Cox graduated with a degree in communications after his return from the North Carolina Raleigh Mission. Previous positions he has occupied include assistant football sports information director and women’s gymnastics information director, both at BYU.

“His experience at BYU will help us immensely,” said Gary Veron, assistant athletic director at BYU–Hawaii. “He is coming from a larger university and his knowledge will translate well to a smaller university. He knows how to work in both a church and athletic environment. When we interviewed him, he stood out. He is passionate about athletics programs and was well qualified with his previous employment.”

“I'm excited to be here at BYU–Hawaii,” stated Cox. ”There are great stories of success within the athletics department – a true championship heritage backed by strong school spirit. I look forward to building on the support of our excellent teams and athletes. We want to see people out at all the events. I want to see our Seasiders succeed.”

Kenny is married to Jane Decker and they have one daughter, Dorothy Jane.
