The 2005 Golden Jubilee souvenir calendar is, quite simply, beautiful and very likely to become a keepsake. In addition to the striking new photos of the campus, student activities, and the BYU–Hawaii voyaging canoe, Iosepa, the calendar contains historical notes and a listing of events planned throughout the Golden Jubilee year. It also contains several pages of alumni information, including a message from association president Les Steward and a directory of the more than 40 worldwide alumni chapters.
"This is the first of several publications and programs that the university is producing in conjunction with the jubilee celebration," said Rob Wakefield, BYU–Hawaii Director of Communications.
"For example, we are completing the design phase of a high-quality photo book that will become a unique memento of the Jubilee. It, too, features beautiful new, previously unpublished photos." He added there will also be a free souvenir program available in time for the Golden Jubilee week's celebration from October 16-23, 2005.
Wakefield explained the 2005 souvenir calendar is currently at the printers and will be available for sale at $10 each at the beginning of December. "In the meantime, we plan to pre-sell them at the University Advancement office in the Administration Building. Call (808) 293-3660 or the new Alumni Association office, at (808) 293-3648, in the Aloha Center.
"As soon as possible, anyone interested can order them online through our jubilee website," Wakefield continued. "They will also be on sale at the community Christmas lighting program on November 30, at the graduation banquet on December 9, the commencement reception on December 11, and other times and locations. We're also trying to cooperate with several fundraising activities in the North Shore communities."
