The local chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals honored William G. Neal with their annual "Executive of the Year Award" on Wednesday, November 16 in the Aloha Center.
"I appreciate this recognition from such a great organization," Neal said, after being presented with a certificate and plaque. "This is a great group of professionals to work with."
Feelings were mutual as many chapter members expressed their admiration to him personally for his many years of constant service.
"Brother Neal is a mentor and role model," said Lila Magalei, former president of the chapter. "He was key in establishing our chapter as a way for administrative professionals to enhance their professionalism, holding weekly meetings to discuss goals and ways to improve each of our areas according to the mission of our school. He was way overdue to receive this recognition."
This year marks the 10th anniversary for the local chapter, Mahalo No Ka Hana, which has presented the award for the past seven years. The award is similar to the acknowledgment given to executives every October on Boss’ Day,a national day of recognition where employees show appreciation to his or her boss and other bosses.
