Both speakers focused their instruction on principles found in President David O. McKay’s inspired addresses at the campus groundbreaking 60 years ago (1955), and at the campus dedication three years later (1958).

Women’s Tennis Achieves National Successes, Honors
The BYU–Hawaii Seasiders Women’s Tennis team received national recognition, success, and honors within the last month. The No. 3 Women’s Tennis team made it through to the semifinals of the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championships, Marietta Tuionetoa was named the 2015 Women's Senior Player of the Year, and BYU–Hawaii Head Coach Dave Porter was named the Wilson/ITA Women's Coach of the Year, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Tuesday, May 12.

Wheelwrights to Serve in the Boston Massachusetts Temple

Helping Others Better: Student Tutors Earn International Certification
Last week, language and writing tutors from Brigham Young University–Hawaii’s Reading/Writing Center and the EIL Tutor Program participated in a ceremony awarding them International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) certificates from the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). This is the first time BYU–Hawaii EIL tutors have earned ITTPC certification; Reading/Writing Center tutors have been earning this certification since 1996. The ITTPC program run by the CRLA certifies postsecondary educational institutional tutoring programs which enables these programs to offer the credential to their qualifying tutors.

10th Annual Research Conference Highlights Range of Student Presentations
On Thursday, March 18, regular classes were not held as BYU–Hawaii had its tenth annual Undergraduate Research Conference, sponsored by the College of Math and Sciences and the College of Language, Culture, and Arts. This conference gives students the opportunity to research and report on topics they find interesting in their fields and significant enough for further study and understanding. This conference, along with the Empower Your Dreams competition, involved hundreds of students across all areas of campus.
