Scott Stiles Named Chief Customer Experience Officer

In this position, Stiles will play a critical role in the newly created department and its efforts to improve the experience of students and employees as they interact with BYU–Hawaii.

Michael Tejada Appointed Administrative Vice President

Tejada will replace Steve Tueller, who is retiring to serve as a mission president after 30 years of service in the Church Educational System.

The highly anticipated annual event that promotes cultural diversity and worldwide peace takes place on March 13, at 7:00 pm and March 15 at 8:00 pm. Among the many clubs set to welcome new dances are the Latin America and Filipino clubs, whilst the Rotuma and Golden Mecca clubs make their debut performance at the event.

On Saturday, February 17, Brigham Young University–Hawaii hosted the 2024 Nā Leo Hou All-State High School Choral Festival. The all-day event brought nearly 400 high school students from across Hawaii together with the Hoʻolōkahi Chamber Choir and Seasiders Singers for interactive workshops, rehearsals, and sectionals, ending with a grand concert performance.

Restoring Bee Colonies: Quinn Evans' Efforts at the Kumuwaiwai Center for Sustainability

The Kumuwaiwai Center for Sustainability has been essential to the Brigham Young University–Hawaii campus for years. Within the center's boundaries, there exists a colony of bees that, unfortunately, has faced decay, pests, and challenging environmental conditions. Quinn Evans, a senior majoring in hospitality and tourism management and a dedicated worker within the center came across this overlooked hive during routine duties. This discovery marked the beginning of Evans’ mission—to begin a project that revives and relocates these bees.

VP Steve Tueller Prepares to Serve as Mission President

Steven W. Tueller has announced his intention to step down from his position as administrative vice president in May of next year. This decision is in anticipation of him and his wife, Laurie, preparing to preside over a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The location of their assignment has yet to be determined and will be announced by the Church next spring. Steve has worked at Brigham Young University–Hawaii for 17 years.
