Joseph F. Smith Library to Donate 40,000 Books to the Northern Mariana Islands
The Joseph F. Smith Library of BYU–Hawaii is embarking on a project to donate 40,000 books to the Northern Mariana Islands in November 2024. The donation, organized in collaboration with Senator Glenn Wakai of Hawaii and the Micronesian community, involves two major shipments: the first crate of books will be sent on November 4, and the second will follow on November 11. The books are set to enhance libraries and educational institutions in the islands, where access to a diverse range of educational materials is limited.

A Sacred Start: New BYUH Students Begin Semester with Laie Temple Visit
On August 29, new students of Brigham Young University–Hawaii (BYUH) attended the Laie Hawaii Temple as part of their New Student Orientation (NSO). This spiritually significant event allowed incoming students of the Fall 2024 Semester to participate in sacred ordinances with the guidance of the New Student Experience (NSE) Team and the ordinance workers of the temple. Ten Brigham Young University–Hawaii students recently embarked on an 11-day Asia Sourcing Experience, immersing themselves in the complexities of global supply chains and manufacturing processes across Korea, China, and Vietnam.
