BYUH Men's Basketball Team Reaches Highest-Ever Ranking

The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s basketball team climbed another spot in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II poll on January 25, moving up to number four (behind Findlay, Ohio; UU-C.W., New York; and Central Oklahoma). The move gives the Seasiders the highest ranking in school history in Division II play, surpassing last week’s number-five ranking. The Seasiders made the jump upwards despite dropping four points in the poll from last week’s record-setting 167.

Seasiders NCAA II Basketball Run Closed off

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — In a great game that was neck and neck until the final minute the BYU-Hawaii Seasiders' memorable season came to an end in a 73-67 heartbreaking loss to the tournament hosting team, Alaska Anchorage, today. This match-up of two talented teams came down to the wire as it was a two point game with under a 30 seconds to go and both teams scrambling to try to take advantage. In the end the number-four ranked team in the nation pulled away in front of a packed house at home.

Seasiders Advance to Sweet 16 in NCAA II Action

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Pac West Conference MVP forward Lucas Alves scored 18 points, but it was a cast of BYU-Hawaii team members that helped the lowest seeded team remaining in the West Region to continue their winning ways and keep their Cinderella dreams of winning the tournament alive with an 83-62 win over conference rival Chaminade University to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.

Coach Porter Reaches 1,000-Win Mark in Tennis

Brigham Young University Hawaii Tennis Coach David Porter joined a very elite group of coaches today as his women's tennis team defeated Dixie State 9-0 to give Porter his 1,000th career win as a head coach.

Wagner Reaches Milestone

Brigham Young University Hawaii's men's basketball win over UH-Hilo on Saturday did more than just solidify the Seasiders' hold on second place in the Pacific West Conference. It produced a remarkable milestone for Head Coach Ken Wagner as well. The win gave Wagner 334 victories as coach of the Seasiders, tying him with former University of Hawaii legends Vince Goo and Riley Wallace for the most wins for a college head coach in state history.

Altamonte Springs, FL — The top-ranked Brigham Young University Hawaii women’s tennis team claimed their second consecutive NCAA II national championship, and seventh in the last nine years, by overwhelming fourth-ranked West Florida today, 5-0, for the Seasiders’ 60th straight win.

These prominent tennis awards were presented last week at a special luncheon held at The Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa in Tucson, Arizona, during the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Annual Meeting.

The Brigham Young University Hawaii women's basketball team opened a new era in Seasider sports November 18 as they opened their inaugural season with a 77-67 loss to Oakland City. A crowd of over 600 fans cheered the Seasiders on in the first-ever BYU-Hawaii women's basketball despite seeing their team fall short on the scoreboard.
