Construction Updates
Construction on campus continues as the foundation for new dormitories was poured on Wednesday, August 8, behind the existing Hales. ‎But there’s something special about this foundation – it includes names of thousands of people who signed their name to rocks, allowing anyone who wanted to 'Be Part of the Foundation’ and participate in building the future of campus.
The McKay Foyer renovation is an effort to enhance and more effectively use this special space.
Hundreds gathered to the Laie campus of BYU–Hawaii for a Dec. 17, 2011, groundbreaking to officially mark the beginning stages of construction for 11 new buildings. The buildings include a multi-use building, married student apartments, single student dormitories and single student apartments.
The university is pleased to announce that the groundbreaking for the new multi-use building and new student housing facilities will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 1:30 PM, following the Fall 2011 Commencement exercises held that morning. Elder Jeffery R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside at the groundbreaking. All are invited to attend and will have the opportunity to break the ground and take a photo following the main program.
